A small-scale, diversified farm.
Our work is a commitment to understand and strengthen the
ecological relationships that sustain the health of our farm.
A healthy ecosystem is the source of the most nutritious vegetables. Improving soil conditions supports ecological restoration, strengthening the vitality of our farm and the food it provides.
We add composted manure from our barn and additional organic matter to build soil in our garden. We also practice low impact cultivation (hand tools!) to support the activity of microorganisms.
We consider open-pollinated varieties to be superior to hybrid varieties. In our opinion, they offer the best flavour. Our seed saving practices have protected varieties lost to the commercial seed industry.
Our barn is home to beloved sows and a charming boar
allowing us to raise piglets to market hogs. Our pigs are
fed certified organic grain and daily forage.
